This is a stunning, green-black calcite crystal cluster that was collected in 2019 from the Sweetwater Mine of Reynolds County, Missouri. The calcite crystals are in scalenohedral form and have several layers of chalcopyrite inclusions throughout. A large section of chalcopyrite crystal encrusted matrix is still attached to this specimen.
This specimen is part of a new find out of Level 17 of the Potosi Mine in Chihuahua, Mexico. It's a 3" wide cluster of yellow-orange calcite crystals with sharp terminations. Each crystal has a darker phantom within. Under shortwave ultraviolet light the crystals exhibit a bright white fluorescence.
