The aim of this study was to examine the effects of mercury (Hg) and available laws to regulate its use in the Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mining (ASGM) Community in Ghana.
The objective of the research was to use informal interviews, literature from the internet, media reports as well as field observations to bring to throw light on the effects small-scale mining activities are having on the environment of Ghana and also to propose some measures that can be put in place to address the identified issues.
