You can actually see the steel slag cinders in the blocks. I've tried removing the paint using some of the best paint strippers out there without much luck: Peel Away 1, Peel Away 7, Smart Strip, Smart Strip Pro, and Lightning Strip. I tried 3000 psi pressure washing with very poor results. So now I'm thinking blasting (as in media blasting).
